Hump Day

4/27/2011

Hump Day, meaning Wednesday, is almost finished. Thank the homework gods, I've almost survived.

Rehearsal for Script want wonderfully - we got the seating arrangements and logistical things all sorted out, the costumes assigned, and the stage directions underlined! We are nearly there, ladies and gents. This morning, my journal said, "Nearly there, and it'll all be worth it in the end." at least 1500 times. Affirmations are sometimes my friend.

I'm about to head off to my final writing class. Before that, coffee. Lots and lots of coffee. I'll see you all on the other side.

Gimmie a Brain After Midnight

The title is roughly based on an ABBA song. Not quite what they had in mind, I'm sure.

This is a jubilant little note to say that the paper is DONE! No one was killed in the process, and I still have several hours to finish "Script". Until rehearsal, I'm going to stow myself away at the library, play Gettysburg on an old VCR in the background, while I type and type away.

I'm also going to a wonderful senior showcase that my two good friends, Greg Hoagland and Rick Nazzaro are hosting tonight at the Theatre Lab of Bloomsburg University! It's completely free, some come check it out if you're in the area! At 7:30pm! Here's their Facebook event!

Anywho, my rehearsal tonight has been postponed, otherwise myself and all the actor people would miss it. And that just wouldn't do. I may be a busy munchkin, but even a busy munchkin can support her graduating seniors! GASP I'll miss them.

I'm hoping that the AMP I'm drinking to stay alive will last me until late into the night - I have two monologues to memorize, a test to study for, and somebody else's paper to write. More on that later. No I'm not cheating. But I got a job. :

NERVES AND COFFEE

GOD I LOVE COFFEE AND MY NERVES ARE ALL FRAYED WHO THE HECK NEEDS PUNCTUATION ANYWAY

I've sat down with Karen Anselm, a beautiful and wonderful professor here at Bloomsburg, to organize the details of getting word out about the reading for "Script". And then it dawned on me. I have a 7-8 pg. paper due on the same day as my finished script and final rehearsal before the big night. I've got 20 hours to finish the 7-8 pg. paper, and the remaining 6 hours after that to work on "Script". After that, I have two audition pieces due to be memorized, a test in some damn class called "Cells, Genes, and Molocules", and then a final presentation of "Script" for another class.

Oh joy. Oh rapture. Oh heart attack.

I'm currently stuck on the idea of not writting my paper, due to overhwelming amounts of stress. Gonna take an Advil, a Pepcid, a nap, and then stay up all night writing the paper.

I love college.

A busy last two weeks

People think I'm joking when I say that I have twenty pages due by the end of the semester. Sadly, I'm not. But I am making headway!

My first public reading of "Script" comes among many, many other assignments, and they're all in competition. The thought makes me chomp on my nails. When you know beyond a doubt that your play needs at least one more scene, and you have little-to-no time to work on it... I imagine that would force anyone to pull their hair. As many have before me, I'm sure.

Along with the birth of my website comes a realization that I have little time to work on it until the semester has actually decided to conclude - fat lot of good that is, eh? For now, my blog shall be the main mode of change on this here website. I'll be adding more content as the end of April comes closer.
